The ending of part 2 was such an interesting section! Piranesi is a trusting, naive character with narrow horizons. Despite that, he is enjoyable to read I’m curious about the identity of the Other.

I am disgusted, disgruntled, and many other dis- words that I can’t think of right now. Chapter 31 put me in a panic, fervently reading and hoping the worst wouldn’t happen. It did.

Very dense. Filled with action, new language that is hard to grasp, and new characters with relationships I’m still trying to parse out. Need a break…

Haunting chapter. The inclusion of the Fates and the power being taken from Dido’s grasp was intense. The last couple pages made me feel isolated, windswept, and unearthly. The Raas are the most complex and interesting- every time I think I have them figured out, some new caveat changes my opinion.

Lysander’s gonna be insufferable after this, isn’t he?

Beautiful. Lovely imagery at such a tense moment (which I disrupted just to appreciate).

GO CASSIUS!

Darrow hasn’t completely pissed me off, so I count this as a win

Well… my opinion of Roque has changed again.

Two amazing chapters- the end of the Sword Armada battle (where we see a very humanizing scene for Roque) and the following chapter with Cassius and Darrow revisiting the past. Makes me want to reread the first book just so I can remember when they were all happy. And contrast that with what I know now

Chapters are 48 and 50

I have so many thoughts. Many of them not good. Still a fast read, but I’m a little disappointed at some parts due to lazy writing

The Culling was brutal. I like the friendship between Darrow and Cassius, so I’m anxious about Cassius finding out what Darrow did

I feel very strongly about a number of concepts in this book already.
