The synopsis here and how It had been advertised by the author online aren't the same. Online it was very much Elodie/Ben centric, the artwork, the snappy one liners etc. But this novel isn't at all about Elodie&JudeANDBen. It's about Elodie and MOSTLY Jude. As someone uninterested in motherhood, had I known it would revolve around Jude like the sun, I'd have never picked it up. Ugh

I was expecting more yearning, some cannibalism it was marketed with emphasis on the romance so the lack of it is a bummer

I thought I'd hate Elodie just based on some posts I've seen the author make in response to people's review of her but I love Elodie so bad. She seems so real: her frustrations, her emotions existing in this duality of love and violence, her guilt and her rage. How young she is and how unreliable that makes her, how difficult her relationship with her son is, her fear and worry because of that. It's so good

Mr Albright is a Dark Romance girlies wet dream and the brain rot in me wishes Easy and him end up in a toxic romantic affair. And I know this man is the villain, and I know he ain't the redeemable kind and yet he really is that guy. Albright stay ready so he don't have to get ready and we have to acknowledge that.

This is repetitive in a way that I'm starting to not enjoy. I expect the arc of these tales to be the same, but I am not finding enough differences and nuances in the chosen person's so far to warrant talking about them all. Two out of the 4-5 stories would have been enough. It could be a lack of the ability to tell a story or something else all together.
