We’re not 100% what we even read… but it wasn’t bad, it was weirdly interesting and had the reader on edge about this freaky camera and what it all meant. That epilogue was what did the reader in to how creepy this story was. Pop Merrill was still creepy and weird until the end, which made this terrifying. This had good pacing, which had the reader hooked until the very end.

What is up with this camera?! It takes photos from another world and only of this dog and a fence? We’re still not quite sure the deal with it, but we do get a load of a back story on Pop Merrill; it seems people don’t really like him or well that’s the vibe we’re getting so far. There isn’t much left to go, so curious how this will wrap up and possibly shock the reader.

The Sun Dog is the last novella in this collection and we’re following this 15-year-old boy, Kevin who’s just received a Polaroid camera for his birthday… but of course something is wrong with the camera, it’s taking photos from the past or of things not there. Interesting. So King kinda played not paying your fine at the library back into all this so it had a small role. Ardelia is out for Sam to keep the evil being alive, but will take anyone if it needs to. This was a good story, not a favourite, but it was fast-paced with characters who were easy to care about. The reader did like the ending; it felt earned and was just gruesome enough.

Okay, so this took a drastic turn. This would have been cooler if it was about the consequences of an overdue library book. But alas, we get the backstory of Ardelia, who was a real person at some point… but now there’s an evil being living inside her who’s after Sam. The premise is slightly creepy and gripping. Really curious how it will end!

Wait, so is the premise of this story about the consequences of an overdue library book? The reader kinda likes that and King is doing such a good job with it so far. The back and forth timeline and seeing Sam kinda travel back in time without realizing it is creepy on its own. Adding the scary Library Policeman kinda feels like an extra layer. We’re hooked to find out what happens next.

We’re onto our third story in this collection, The Library Policeman, and so far, we’re hooked to see what is going to transpire between our main character Sam, and the librarian, Ardelia… who could be real or not. It’s very wrapped up in a mystery that we can’t wait to unravel. Good pacing and characters so far.

The reader likes that this kind of went back and forth between what was real and what wasn’t. They wished that the ending could have been a tad bit more concrete instead of being wishy washy in what we’re supposed to believe was true. We had a feeling we knew the answer, but King made it so that it could go either way. A good story, but a bit of a alright ending.

We’re starting to question whether or not our main character, Mort Rainey, is going insane. The guy, Mr. Shooter who claims Mort stole his story, is starting to sound like a figment of his imagination. It’s a cross between Shooter not existing or he’s terrorizing everyone in the town. This has been very twisty and the reader isn’t sure what to believe just yet but they are down to find out.

We’re onto the second short story in this collection called Secret Window, Secret Garden where King is back to writing about a writer. It feels a little too soon after the Dark Half, but we’ll see how it goes. So far, the lead up has been good; it’s fast-paced and creepy in a whodunit way. The interest has been piqued, can’t wait to see where this goes.

It’s all about the space time continuum and having to go back through a rip in time and the Langoliers are supposedly the guardians of time. This was such a fascinating story. The way they came to a resolution was so intense and the sacrifices some of them had to make. What a great story, very good pacing with interesting characters.

So now everyone can see these Langoliers and they’re creepy and fast, with little legs? The descriptions aren’t 100% there of what they’re supposed to look like, but the fact that they move fast, is. All of our characters are now running away from them but Craig might be the one who can stop and save them? 1 chapter left; how will it end?

What. The. Heck. Just happened?! Craig is crazy? Or are we being led to believe that? Dinah could be more than just a blind girl? Hmm some pieces may start falling into place. It’s nice to see we’re getting more background to this nightmare; the more we get, the creepier it is. It’s all very fast-paced and well told. The characters are also quite memorable, too.

We’ve got background on some of our surviving characters. It’s playing really well into the main story because it gives us a sense of who we’re working with. Craig is awful, but he has his reasons… and he’s the one who brings up the Langoliers and Dinah the blind girl who can sense more than others. There’s a lot at play the reader is terrified of what’s to come.
