We’re on the precipice of figuring this all out. George & Thad do feel like 2 different people, BUT we’ve gotten so much info that could swing the other way that this reader is still slightly conflicted they need to see how it ends. King’s little breadcrumbs have been so fun to follow and put together; it’s never enough to know the whole picture, but enough for the reader to paint their own; very thrilling.

We’re now led to believe that Thad and George are two separate people who look exactly the same… because we’re pretty sure they are the same person, we just don’t know how to prove it yet. Especially when people have seen both. The parts with Pangborn going after the doctor that treated Thad as a child is what the reader is invested in right now, but those parts have been so small. We need more!

Things are building up. I like that King has added the fact that Thad has twins of his own to reflect how he and George Stark could be related. It’s an interesting dynamic and a good device to show there is another possibility in all this. We still don’t really know who George is, or if he’s actually real, but at least it doesn’t feel like we’re at a standstill. King has kept this moving and fast paced.

Well we’re still at a cross between George Stark being a real person come to life out of Thad’s book or it’s all in Thad’s head and he’s crazy. The reader hasn’t decided which side they’re on because both feel so compelling to be the truth. King has set this up so well that all we can do is read on to find out more. It’s so thrilling & exhilarating to read. Strong characters and a strong plot so far.

This is still fast-paced, but some of the chapters moved a little slower as the reader tried to put this together. At first we’re led to believe that Thad’s book characters are coming to life, but maybe that’s not the case. Maybe he’s subconsciously writing all this and none of it is real? The reader is real curious. Thad is an interesting character that we want more backstory on.

Well, there have been 2 murders and somehow Thad’s DNA has shown up at both crime scenes, leading the cops to believing he committed them. But it’s all so suspicious that the sheriff doesn’t think everything adds up. The reader has some theories, but they’re also so locked in they can’t wait to read more to piece things together. Very fast-paced!

We’re introduced to Thad who is a writer and his story starts with him giving an interview that outs himself that his writer pseudonym is George Stark. Not sure how this fits in with the grave robbing chapter we get, but we’re excited to find out. Also this feels like a big nod to King being outed as Bachman.

This had a very wordy last chapter. King spent so much time with purple prose and things that didn’t seem to matter that it felt like it took extra long to get to the point. This could have had such a fantastic ending, but it just felt bogged down by unnecessary words and background info.

At this point in the story not really sure why new characters are being introduced and why we’re still getting background to the town. We just want the end to come. Jim just wants to know what Bobbi is and Bobbi hasn’t really said. Everything still feels so ominous. There’s one last chapter left so hopefully everything will come together to explain it all. The reader is more than happy to get to the conclusion.

It only took 600 pages to get to a description of the Tommyknockers. They are creepy as Jim goes into the ship with Bobbi to see them and see how they operate. King gives us more background to people in the town which does help us understand more but at this point we just want to know if Jim is going to save Bobbi or if she’s too far gone. Same with the others who have been taken by them. Hopefully we find out soon

Book 3 has brought new life to the book after a sluggish book 2. We meet Bobbi’s sister, Anna, who’s an absolute nightmare, yet was so interesting to read about that made the story pick up again. We’re getting a glimpse of the Tommmyknockers and the power they hold over Bobbi and how her sister and Gard could be safe. No idea where this will go, but the reader can’t wait to find out.

We just finished book 2 and we’re still not sure what to make of this story. We’ve got a handful of characters some of them coming and going from this mysterious shed others on a mysterious plain of existence. Everyone is bleeding because of this ‘becoming’ there’s lots going on. There’s a lot alluded to the Tommyknockers, but we still don’t know exactly what they are… all in due time we’re sure.

Okay, things are starting to slowly come together. We’ve got 2 characters who aren’t affected by the Tommyknockers; it seems like they may be the ones to save the rest of the characters. We’re still not sure why or how exactly they’re being invaded, but it feels like in due time we’ll know. It does feel nice seeing the loose threads start to come together.

It feels like we have way too many characters now to keep track of. The reader is a little confused as to who is who and what their role is in the grand scheme of the plot. We’re sure it’s all going to come together, but right now it feels a little muddled. The writing is alright. King is trying to build suspense and tension, but it’s falling a bit flat with all the characters.

So we’re starting to gather that we may have lost our main characters and now we’re getting a bunch of different ones from the town as something is happening to it. Everyone seems to be bleeding in some way or another and they’re creating these gadgets with lots of power. We’re not sure what is happening exactly but hopefully things will start to make sense soon!
