Currently listening to the audiobook version of this. I'm glad I first read/listened to Coates memoir, The Beautiful Struggle, about his life growing up. Having that context of his background makes Between the World and Me more powerful and authentic as he reflects on his past (described in the memoir) while communicating to his son.

So fat, the book is a quicker read than I expected. Kendi does a good job switching back and forth between small sections of theory/ideas to personal stories from his life that illustrate those ideas.

Listening to the audiobook while running, of course. More entertaining than informative but that's what I was looking for, and it's narrated by the author.
