started out good. has kinda gotten a bit goofy and repetitive. not sure what all the hype is about. feeling a 3.25 but maybe it’ll get better

my least favorite trope is when the narrator knows something critical to the plot but refuses to mention it. and then proceeds to hint at it almost every page. i’ve also guessed what the twist will be (1 of 2 scenarios), if i’m wrong this will be worth the read, if ive guessed correctly…..

I like cozy mysteries but this author struggles with pacing. I feel like some of the middle section could be cut/edited down. Also she uses a lot of metaphors/phrases that just aren’t how people talk in real life. Idk, it’s alright but nothing too special. I didn’t realize MC was 30, I thought she was late 40s.

The names are very distracting. I feel like the author tried to come up with her own naming system but it just kinda falls flat and is very convoluted/confusing. Plot is moving along but i am getting the feeling it could be about 2/3 the length it is now

i feel like he is trying too hard to be relatable/funny in this book. more so than his other books. not really enjoying it but i want to see it through

Good so far but the names are a little too creative and are kinda confusing.

Natalya is starting All the Colors of the Dark
The prose is try hard, the chapters too short to convey anything meaningful.

IDK the characters are kinda annoying this time around. A lot of monolog-ing. Lots of growls, crunch, and ripping lol.

I’m always excited to see how Nat will take on a horror trope - Mary is one of my favorite horror books in the past few years. The book is off to a very slow and wordy start. Something I noticed is that Nat has trouble cutting back on his words. I like his descriptions, but sometimes things begin to drag, which was my main qualm with Nestlings. Hoping it picks up the pace soon.

Like the atmosphere. Creeped out by the 15 dating the 21 year old……

I like the mystery but I am not liking how much time is being given to talking about the author’s life/thoughts. Right now I am feeling 3.5/5 but that might go up depending on how the mystery is wrapped up
