It's definitely a narrator issue with this audiobook. It's SO hard to tell who is talking, considering there are literally only two characters. Dual narration or distinction between them would've been best.

It's finally picking up the pace but it's not an effortless read like I've had recently.

It's quite slow paced with not enough urgency. Finding it hard to pick this up and make a dent.

Slow start with not a lot of context but hopefully it picks up. I don't care for how bourbon is made so that's going over my head.

The tension is palpable!

This feels so different from Rae Kennedy's other books.

Wood is such a golden retriever which isn't my preference but he's kinda cute. Everyone else is insufferable (not Livvy or Noah tho, I still love them).

I missed Rae Kennedy's books so much. They're the perfect holiday read.

Psychopath Tobias has arrived!

Whilst I'm enjoying this, I'm not finding it as engrossing as the EOD trilogy as some of the shocking moments have already been revealed in the other books i.e. locking Aria in the cages, pregnancy... twins!

That was inevitable but I still like this book and it's a great read.

I want to be enjoying this more than I am but there's certainly an eerie feeling throughout. The handler cannot be trusted.

Waiting for the shit to hit the fan because it's all going too well so far. Well being... Tobies being locked up for his own good with no consequences.

Oh shit, this is getting dark... has Tobias drugged Aria?!

This is far more fast-paced than the EOD series, jumping straight into the spicy stuff. I kinda like the slow-burn but this is also satisfying, knowing where they end up. I'm also so on edge that Tobias is going to go off the deep end at any minute.

I feel weird reading about Daddy Tobias and Aria, but it's also interesting seeing how alike their kids are to them in personal traits etc.

When you think everything is going swimmingly, Leigh Rivers starts dropping BOMBS on us... literally and figuratively. TOBIAS IS BACK

Leigh Rivers 1 - 0 me. I've cried so many times at various stages of this book already. I'm broken and just want all my faves to be okay.

I am constantly tense wondering when the next thing to go wrong is. Daym, Kade really is his farher's son tho.

I want to skip to the end to make sure everything works out okay, I can't bear this.

I have been in STREAMS OF TEARS at this book already. If I thought book one would destroy me, I wasn't ready for book two. Trying to read it quickly so I can find out of my children are okay at the end but let's face it... unlikely.

This is already really rough, but I love seeing how Stacey is willing to fight for Kade. They're *healing*.
