⇾ this book was one giant oxymoron - it felt like insta-love, but the pacing was so slow at the same time
⇾ i get the trope of the "broken rich girl", but the character development came too late, so Kelsey wasn't necessarily likeable
⇾ the travelling aspect had potential, though some of the places were kinda glossed over
⇾ i guessed the plot twist early on, but an epilogue would've been nice to tie up loose ends

The premise isn't exactly the most original thing in the world, but the author pulled it off quite well - plus, I've always loved the whole "pretend relationship" thing

IMO, this book had more chemistry + emotional depth than the previous one, and I liked that the characters didn't feel like paper cut-outs

The resolution seemed almost rushed at some point, but it wasn't overly cheesy, and ended on a hopeful note

predictable, but still amusing (for the most part)

i was slightly dubious about the nature of this book at first, but the romance turned out to be short and sweet, despite lacking a greater level of depth

the writing was sometimes a little too colloquial for my liking, but it was easy to read and i still enjoyed it

This book is about as cliche as it gets, but it started out with some promise?? My feelings fluctuated a lot, but the last 10% seriously went downhill - the quality of the writing deteriorated, the heroine became irritating as hell, and the plot events felt too forced

Also, what is with the overuse of "babe" ??? pls stop i lose a brain cell every time the word is mentioned

In spite of its obvious simplicity, there is something about Rupi Kaur's writing that really resonates with me, especially in some of her longer poems

This collection felt intensely personal, honest, and full of heart - RK's poetry deals with important themes and leaves an empowering message, and I also enjoyed the aesthetic of her illustrations

The Girl Without a Face by Marie Lu ★★★★★

I love anything Marie Lu writes, and this was no exception - a perfect blend of disturbing backstory, unreliable narration and psychological thrill

Plus, creepy girls in closets get me every time

I love series where the couple arcs are interconnected, and after six books, these characters have all grown on me

Logan and Kayla's duet was a very satisfying conclusion - their story felt more complex than the other two, and they were both such sweethearts :)))

The authors seem to improve with every book they write, and I'm interested to see what else they'll be coming up with soon

the authors really took "second-chance romance" to the next level - the shift in dynamic is kinda heartbreaking, but i love pain we basically get to experience everything again for the first time, except the tables have turned

the tension is so addictive oml

M by Stefan Bachmann ★★★½

Good use of sensory imagery, but I still felt detached to the story - it intrigued me, but didn't feel scary enough

The mystery element was there, albeit a little dull - however, I did like the ending, and I found myself flipping back to see if the children's rhymes had left any clues earlier

cindy ♕ is finished with This is Effortless (Drew & Courtney, #2; Checkmate Duet, #4)
The plot felt slightly routine at times, but Drew and Courtney were super adorable together, so I guess I can't complain - their love is so pure and beautiful and the epitome of a HEA

Mia's co-conspirator actually caught me by surprise, and those last few scenes were pretty intense - finally, she got what she deserved (but of course, the author leaves us with another cliffhanger anyway)

There seems to be a pattern with these cliffhangers, although I actually saw it coming this time

I really liked Drew and Courtney as a couple, and funnily enough, Travis and Viola also got more endearing, even though this isn't even their book

I'm looking forward to reading Logan and Kayla's story soon, but first, I cannot wait to see karma kick some serious ass

cindy ♕ is finished with This is Love (Travis & Viola, #2; Checkmate Duet, #2)
The love seemed almost superficial at first, considering they'd "hated" each other for the majority of the first book - I know they had history, but I struggled to connect with the relationship, since there was a lot of telling and not enough showing

Honestly, there were some frustrating moments, but the characters eventually grew on me, and the last few chapters felt genuinely sweet
