After trudging through the first chapter "the force of falsities" - mostly because of the usual reasons - the latin he tends to throw in, the several words that need a dictionary's help, and those confounding erudite references - the chapter ends with this line ...
"After all, the cultivated person's first duty is to always be prepared to rewrite the encyclopedia."
