This is a work I strongly recommend for those wanting to understand the true depth of the Holocaust. A note....Yitzhak Arad passed away on May 6, 2021.

This book is excellent. The pure factual detail gives a true perspective look at the Holocaust unlike any account I have read.

This as I read it an very in depth and detailed look at the holocaust. Chapter 8 "The Trains of Death" was an education for me.

This work is hopefully exposing and detailing a horrific facet of the human animal; which if society learns from it; will prove to facilitate a major improvement in the future of mankind.

This is quite an indepth tome I am slowly learning a very new and great perspective.

Noticed this work while cruising this site...just purchased it and finished the prologue

I did read something (magazine article) somewhile back tha wooly mammoths may have survived up to a couple of thousand years ago but were hunted to extinction by man.

I'm up to page 210 in the chapter titled "The New Pangaea"; and am beginning to wonder if there ever has been intelligent life on this planet.

An aside, I have been googling the names of the scientist/researchers Elizabeth Kolbert references in her work...I'm learning alot!

You have to read the book to understand the struggles that were extant there; I can't put it in words. I also read some editorial reviews; from the "Financial Times" London, "The Washington Post and "The Sunday Times " London and others which are rightly highly complimentary.

Horrific, is all I can say; savage doesn't describe the post war situation I have nearly finished the "ethnic cleansing section". It is hard to close the door on man's evil side once it has been openned.

With this said I must admit the impact it is having on me consists of giving and reinforcing the fact my understanding that man is quite a violent, and ignorant species of life and the huge and complex cities we live in are actually quite fragile.

The war continued for several years beyond the surrender of the Third Reich; man is a brutal animal.

Up to page 106; it is getting worse by the page. Strange how cruel and brutal man is. Again it is an eye openner.

This is an eye opener. What is war? Does man really know himself.............more anon.

Again I'm glad to have taken the time to read this piece. It has given me some good insight into me and the world.

This is an interesting book; however, it somewhat depressing to me so I have shelved it. On to the next book. At the present I am reading periodicals both old and new.

This is a book that all the members of this sight need to take note of. What is happening in America now is quite serious.
