Will finish it but I need to let go of the maniérisme- repetition of the way these groups choose their way of living. Repeating again and again this way of thinking that somehow there must be a god punishing them for what ever reason and at the same time doing business with everyone. The submission of women annoys me but more … well, one day I will finish the book just so that I learn whom they are and whom I am.

First time I read on this subject and very happy that I’ve choose to read it. Laurie Frankel makes it clear. For every person there is a place and family is the reference as long as each one knows what’s going on for himself. And cares enough for the others to do what has to be done so that the most fragile one is safe. Her desire of having a girl after giving birth to four boys is challenging her.

Asking for more concentration effort as It is the third time restarting at the beginning this book. Will I keep going? Maybe now that I know the first 50 pages or so are the hardest!

A must in anyone’s life, philosophy & theology, two ways, important for sure but here Lenoir condensed Spinoza’s writing on religions / politics . Interesting to recognize some similarities between our governments now in the twenty one century while Éthique was written in seventeen century. Lenoir guides and inspires us to go deeper in reflecting about our society and the way we educate our children.

" Many clients tell me that they support other grieving friends much differently after having grieved themselves. They say : I listen better. I don't speak in clichés. I did not know what that felt like until I was on the receiving end of them. I'm totally okay when people need to cry.

"Your personality, life experiences and wiring will dictate, to a significant degree, how you experience loss and what you need from yourself and others as grieving unfolds....No one else will feel the way you do or will seek to express those feelings in the same way."

As curious as it might sound, I enjoy reading this book. Unique is the way we grieve but universal is the desire to find our way to express it.

I finished this autobiography a week ago and I am still wondering if I could let it go or wait before passing it on to a friend. The reason is simple I just loved following Agatha Christie along her life long path. Respectful of her intimacy she was but so generous of many of her travelling experiences as much as her writing experiences. Lovely moments it was reading her autobiography.

Helen is sharing with us mostly their life together through her longtime companion, Scott Nearing. We follow them up until the end of his life. What he choose to read, do, talk about, say about his own way of thinking about sociology, politic, but also about living on a piece of land. Poetry and literature were important all their life and Helen read out loud poems up until the end to her dear companion Scott.
