Completed Book One. A little slow to get started but became quite the page turner over the last hundred pages.

This is proving to be a very moving and difficult read. I can only manage a chapter in a sitting and have to pause every so often to digest what I've read. I've known many Jews over the years and all were impacted by the Holocaust in some way, but their recounting was always brief. This is a sustained recounting and the fear and regrets are palpable.

"And here this saga ends." closes Egil's Saga. I enjoyed it but found it hard to follow in some places through the combination of so many people named Thor____ and the tendency to jump between stories within the saga. 3/5 stars for this first saga.
