As an archaeologist, this is one of the funniest things I have read in a long time: "But those first pyramids had been built by human beings, little bags of thinking water held up briefly by fragile accumulations of calcium, who had cut rocks into pieces and then painfully put them back together again in a better shape".

I am off to do archaeology field work for 2-3 weeks. I have packed four books and a head lamp and am looking forward to the quiet mornings to get some good reading time in. I hope the world is a better place when I get back.
