DNF at 44%
The premise had promise, but the execution didn’t work for me. The prose felt clunky and underdeveloped, the characters flat and unlikable, and the female characters were especially poorly written. I gave it a fair shot, but the writing grated more than it engaged me. At this point, I don’t think it will improve, and my time is better spent elsewhere.

So far, Dracula is the only one of Bram Stoker's work that I've enjoyed. Heavily considering dnf-ing the rest of the collection. Racism, animal cruelty, misogyny.

Read about a third of Lair of the White Worm when I decided to dnf that piece of racist trash. Will give the short stories a shot at a later time

Finished The Jewel of the Seven Stars. Marked the individual book as read in order to leave a review and rating. Again, will read the rest of the stories at a later time.

Finished Dracula. Might write a short review and save the rest of the stories for later. Very compact pages in this edition, btw.

Loved it! Can't wait for the next one :-)
