Its definitely a slice of life seinen! i'm enjoying it so far. Not too much is happening but i'm really enjoying everyone's interactions. I really like the sense of community and kindness expressed in this story. Its such a shame that such community and care seem to be lost on us nowadays.

Summary: Two friends get together to talk about people they know and music
Thoughts: Boring topic so far, not familiar enough with j-pop/music to appreciate it, but into music like that either way. Great at showing how casually people dismiss and dislike people just for being fat. Great portrayals of shallowness and emptiness, nothing really happening so far; psychedelic begins at end.

Trial Witch: 4/5
Summary: Woman given trial period for witch powers, hijinks with transmogrification; gets back at cheating husband - playful vibe!

Full of Malice: 3/5
Summary: Girl trapped in mental hopsital; lobotomy. Wish it were longer!

not a fan of the prose and the shifting perspective without some warning but the premise is still interesting enough to keep going and its so short a story i figure why not

Plus, not a fan of the sovereign character/concept. You dont need a shady third party to tell is the US government is corrupt and patriarchal, it already is that, they'd be doing exactly what they're doing without that character. It feels like an easy cop out so american readers wont be offended that their country is portrayed too on the nose for their comfort.

Idk the exact page but im getting mighty annoyed at the narration this book is using. Especially with their grand tone. I know its an old man who truly believes that he and his country are great and all but it's a tiresome narrative to read through when its all too common. Some of the narration works fine for parallels but so far 80% feels unnecessary as the story literally implies the sentiments via the art.
