Maybe something is lost in translation. This is a hard book to finish and it’s only 180pages long

For the love of God, please make time move on somehow. I’m sick of reading about the same flipping day for eighty pages. It does make me empathise with Tara but still

Wow. Edward focuses on the origins of orientalism, and how the west views the “Oriental” as passive and unable to think for himself, or govern himself, justifying all the colonization occurrences in the last 3 centuries. Also it’s funny how the west just defines us textually but once our actions deviate from what they described then it’s Islam vs non Islam. Anyway,i can’t read books the same way ever again.
