Hmm I think the story finally deviated from canon? It’s been a hot second since I saw the movie, but I’m pretty sure this doesn’t happen. I find it interesting anyway.

I don’t feel any kind of way about the blatant misogyny in this book, but damn it’s outstanding. First Teela, the only female member of the crew, is generally useless and only comes in because she’s “lucky”. She also has sex with Luis. And now another woman shows up and *spoiler* she also has sex with Luis. That’s her whole job in fact, a prostitute. Those are all the women in this story, apparently

Guys,,,, I hate Teela. Omg. It’s been a while since I encountered such an insufferable character.

The fall of Rome is such a fascinating topic

These days have been super hard for me so I haven’t been able to concentrate and read the way I planned. I’m excited to continue Powers and Thrones, for one. Or I was a suppose. These days I’m just sad.

My almost 18 year old dog, Nicky, passed away. He’s been with me since I was 7. And I adored him. I still do. I always will. But it’s difficult to adapt to this new reality.

Alcibiades is an outstanding candidate for ostracism. Athenians can vote to exile a politician for ten years. Not for anything illegal, but because the citizens judge him to be a danger to the body politic. Huh. Maybe we should bring that back.

Teela is driving me insane.

I love this series already. I fell in love with the narrative style when I read the one about Ancient Egypt, and now just reading the first chapter I’m just as, if not more, fascinated with this one.

I must say…. I’m a bit disturbed with the age gap between Luis Wu and Teela,
