I love this series already. I fell in love with the narrative style when I read the one about Ancient Egypt, and now just reading the first chapter I’m just as, if not more, fascinated with this one.

I must say…. I’m a bit disturbed with the age gap between Luis Wu and Teela,

To be honest… there are some positions I find insufferable from Ellie, even in the context she is from. I can understand her distaste from the patriarcal norm and her criticisms of it, but letting it dictate this much of her life it’s tiresome. She’s way too much of an absolutist and I thought she would’ve seen this after TotSK.

Jesus, so much to say. The last few chapters were better than what we had before, with the conflict creating tension where previously there was non. It was a relief.

Finished chapter 5. The Mausoleum of Halikarnassos is not my favorite Wonder, but I did find fascinating that the word Mausoleum exists thanks to the king buried in it. I can see why it was impressive, though. There’s a miniature of it in MiniTurk, and when you imagine that building real size? Yeah, it was huge.
