I'm out of hockey land (mentally still at the cottage, though) and I have delightfully no idea where this book is going, but man, it's making me miss Kyushu a lot.

I am a MESS :')

I just realized I'm getting an entire book about Ilya and Shane again instead of just catching glimpses of them!! On the other hand, they're both so miserable already, this is going to be a lot :')

Man, these books are *not* good for my sleep schedule.

Still on the hockey books, but I have to say: rape allegations in professional sports and especially how everyone involved – athletes, the league, fans – deals with is a really interesting new angle.

Here we go again ✨️

Ironically reading a German translation of this because that's the only version available at my local library (then again, with the author's name, it's almost like it was meant to be?).

Now going into new territory the show hasn't reached yet, and I'm actually kind of excited, help!

Oh my god, book!Kip is such an asshole, the only reason why I haven't dropped this book yet are the tiny (but glorious) glimpses of Ilya.

November library haul, part 1

This is so much more fucked up than I expected – I like it!

As always, no better way to get back into reading after a slump than queer YA.

Reading about Snow's misfortunes was all fun and (no pun intended) games because I never cared and still don't care about him. Unfortunately, I like Haymitch too much for my own good, and this one's going to hurt :')

I've gotta say, the dualty of the Capitol kids being fucking awful and the fact that their entire behaviour is the result of propaganda + also being traumatized by war is fascinating. (And was a very good distraction while my train was stranded in the middle of nowhere for an enrire hour today.)

Shoutout to the person who borrowed this book from the library before me and gave it back a whole 14 days overdue. :))

(To be fair, now I'm starting to think I was too harsh on them, because I can see how 500+ pages of young Snow might be hard to get trough...)

I remember rushing to the bookstore on a Saturday all these years ago because I knew I was going to finish part 1 over the weekend and not wanting to wait until Monday to be able to get my hands on part 2, and now I ran to the library on a Saturday for exactly the same reason. Amazing.

It's amazing how this book somehow still has the same ability to suck me in it did approx. 15 years ago.

Wanted to read the new books, realized I didn't really remember anything from the original ones, so here we are.
