Okay what this book didn't need was an insta-love romance... Considering me disappointed

There's so many things I don't like at this point. How Willa is made to be the world's best female soccer player and we've only seen her play once. How Ry and her keep calling themselves enemies, when the worst thing they've done to each other is banter. How literally everything is TELLING and not showing, especially about their behaviours. How it was so much exposition, etc...

I don't know, it is enjoyable, but it's so much telling and not showing, especially when it comes to Willa's infamous temper. Also a lot of stuff are repeated because we have 2 different POVs AND I found the "spend quality time together or else you're failing" story line a bit too far fetched for college students

I don't know if it's done on purpose or not, but Shiori comes across so f** stupid some times...
A sentinel is searching for her and her brothers and she's like "I wonder what made him come to such a faraway island"
WELL MAYBE HE ALREADY SEARCHED EVERYWHERE ELSE, GOD...

Oh my God, the last thing this book needs is a love triangle 🙄

The thing is...with Citra and Rowan frozen and Curie dead, the author has to introduce us to new characters until we retrieve Citra and Rowan and the problem is...I don't care about them at all 😂 like it's the 3rd book, I don't want new people!

Why oh why is Patroclus not even a mere soldier during 99% of the story and now he is gallivanting towards his death, thinking he's as good as Achilles simply because he wears his armor??

Patroclus was actually a competent warrior in Iliad, if she simply kept it like this it would have made more sense that he tried to best Hector! Now he seems foolish (for like the tenth time 🙈)

Why in Earth has Miller written Patroclus like this??? 😂
He realized he would probably have to fight in the war only after he already arrived on the battlefield and not only that, he needed to hear Odysseus call every man to battle to figure it out 😂
I mean, it's a f** war, what did you expect to do, run freely in the fields and make flower crowns? 😂😂😂

It's fairly slow, but tbh I don't really mind that, I like the feeling it creates...
