Man, I'm writing a sermon and my writing looks like a puritan more and more...

Not done with finals, but am starting to study for my presbytery's church history exam. The goal is to read 4 books by the end of the month:
1. MacCulloch, The Reformation
2. Van Dixhoorn, Minutes and Papers vol 1
3. Hart & Muether, Seeking a Better Country
4. Letham, Through Western Eyes

Does anyone know how to write books that are not depressing?

This is the first thing I read in three weeks other than Mandarin road signs

The problem with logging books on Goodreads this semester is that I have 2000+ pages to read that are sections of books or journal articles to read. Oh well.

Spring semester starts 2/7. I have to read around 600 pages a week in order to read everything that's assigned. And that doesn't include the 8 quizzes, 5 HWs, 5 video lectures, and 20 vocab a week required for my two language classes. I'll see y'all on the other side.

January term is already starting tomorrow and I'm only a third of the way through like all nine of my books I'm reading...

George Eliot has a better command of the English language than maybe any other writer I've read.

I've always loved Herbert's "The Collar" but I don't think I've ever truly appreciated the merits of Herbert's "Prayer" until now

I'm pretty close to being convinced to be a knight errant now that I know that people of arms are better than people of letters. Does anyone want to be my squire?

Haven't had much motivation to read, but I've bought a lot of books recently 🤷‍♂️. My wallet is feeling a bit too light now. Also been writing more than usual.
