I am still enjoying the book, but somehow I feel that something is missing, something fundamental. I can't really put my finger on it. It just feels a little hollow

Still very much into this. However, I have two issues; how Evelyn tells her story and the instances of in-your-face morality from Monique's side. I can ignore both, but I don't think it'll be a five star rating from me for that alone. Let's see what the rest of the book will bring.

I don't know why the biography of a fictional actress is so fascinating to me, but I am glad I am having fun reading again

I read the Chrestomanci series more than 15 years ago during a time I was feeling very lonely and sad. I loved the books and devoured them, but these days I can harldy remember any of the plot. Re-reading the first novel is like reading it for the first time, but it gives me that glowing warm feeling I remember form back then, and I feel like everything is going to be okay.

It's not bad, but I think after reading "The Remains of the Day" my expectations where a bit too high :/

I am kinda surprised that I am enjoying this more than I thought I would! So so far the stories are fun and interesting, and one can detect those tiny moments which will define Scrooge as the miserable old miser we know him as.

Die alten Ducktales Kurzgeschichten sind echt nicht gut gealtert...Dagobert reißt mit der Sippe an den Südpol um nach Gold zu suchen...indem er einen rießigen Heitzstrahler aufstellt und sich durchschmilzt zum Grund, wo er festes Öl findet. Und die Panzerknacker klauen Robbenbabies und sind deswegen die Bösen ಠ_ʖಠ

Es ist wirklich frustrierend, nach dem der letzte Run fast ausschließlich aus Fillern bestand, dass die letzte Story (Morgendämmerung des Tages der Rückkehr der lebenden Knollen) so viele Plotlines wieder auffnimmt und für eine Fortsetzung aufbaut. Ich gehe mal davon aus dass die Story geschrieben wurde bevor bekannt war das die Serie abgesetzt wird. Frustrieren tut es mich trotzdem :(

It's infinitely frustrating when you read something that you know would help with your current mental situation but you cannot put it into practice because PANDEMIC (and other things I have no control over) That's not to say Dan's advise isn't helpful in general, but it's unhelpful right now 😐
