What a ride.

What a wonderful trilogy. I absolutely love it.

There's a sequel novella included in this Kindle version. Bonus! I'm not ready to leave this world yet.

I didn't know what to expect for The Broken Kingdoms so I was a little disoriented at the beginning, but once the main plot began in earnest I was hooked.

As implied by the title, this book is really an omnibus. I just finished Book One: The 100,000 Kingdoms and am intrigued by the world that Jemisen built. I'm looking forward to the next two books.

I think I might be a little sensitive to stories involving a breakdown of society considering how 2020 has turned out. Butler wrote the 1st book in 1993. She references "future" dates of 2024. It's eerie how prescient she was in her vision for this series.

Compelling and entertaining. Very hard to put down.

I just began Part 3 of 3. Though this book starts out like Harry Potter and Name of the Wind, it finds its own voice and hits its stride about halfway through. I'm feeling a good tug to finish this book. The momentum is building up nicely.

The game play is intriguing, but I'm a little annoyed by the main character. Hopefully there will be a breakthrough in the second half.

Just finished reading through an epic fight scene in the middle of Chapter 10. Awesome. I'd love to see that in a movie.

Ugh. I'm putting this one down.

It doesn't help that the audiobook narrator sounds like the guy who did the voice over for the "honey badger don't give a damn" video. You can only take so much of that.

Neil Gaiman himself narrates for the audiobook.

I have to admit this book is slow-going for me. I'm more than half way through it and it's just starting to get more interesting. So far, I like the concepts that are presented, though.
