Struggling. Human horror (horrible people being horrible and miserable) with only the occasional mention of ghostly goings on. Such a long book better have decent payoff. I'll continue because I like the other books I have read by the same author.

Halfway through and nothing interesting has happened aside from a glass moving. The two big revelations were obvious and I hope we, the readers, weren't supposed to be surprised. I'll persevere but not impressed so far.

So I'm 99% on what is really happening in the book/the twist but I have another like 7 hours to go to find out 🥴 I am still hoping it will surprise me but if it's what I think it's very tediously predictable

Hmmm...I'm getting over hyped vibes from this one like The Last House on Needless Street which I hated. Because I hate this so far, the main character is thoroughly dislikeable and it's not at all horror. Does it improve?

References less annoying now the point of the story has kicked in and there's a reason for the different things to be included but GOOD GRIEF the whole Prince sequence was tedious AF

I know the whole point of these books is the references but for the first part of the book they have felt really cringey and just crow barred in.

Finished. Hmm. Disappointing end to the trilogy.
