“The Dryad’s Shoe” just became my absolute favorite Cinderella retelling EVER. No contest.

I love Cordie so much. I hope she gets some sort of miracle.

This series has really come into its own with excellent characters and some unique stories. I adore the Nekobaba and the current deepening mystery regarding Aoi. The author is doing a great job tying in various side characters. Good stuff!

There’s something very travelogue about this, but I’m not complaining. 🌋🌴

Okay, this one does decidedly improve in the final third. I still find Clio annoying, but she also seems more sympathetic now. The complexities are revealing themselves in an intriguing way that makes for compelling reading.

Clio, you idiot, what did you think was going to happen? 📖

This is starting to get interesting, though I still don’t care for the protagonist, which is unfortunate. The excerpts from the edited book left by her mother are fascinating and I do like the twist on an unreliable narrator.

I kind of wish we were reading this story from another perspective.

A fun (and often horrifying!) listen, we’ll-narrated. ☠️

Not a fan of any of the characters so far, but I am a fan of this author, so I’m trusting that things will improve once all the pieces are in place.

Nothing against Kiwi, really, and he is certainly having a time of it, but during his chapters I mostly wish that we could get back to Ava and the Birdman.

Switching from the audiobook to the ebook version at Part Three because I just discovered that my new library card only does seven day (!) Libby borrows.

I could handle that with the ebook, but that’s not enough time (for me) for an audiobook.

So far, this does seem filled with fairly straightforward recipes that I would like to make. I’d keep an eye out for a sale on this one. (Mine is borrowed from the library, currently.)

I’m listening to the audiobook and it’s the same narrator as Convenience Store Woman, which threw me for a minute, but she’s really good, so it’s cool. 😎

Calling this a DNF at the end of part one.
