Hey Friends, I'm currently in the middle of a major life change so I haven't been reading all week, which feels strange as I never went a day without reading last year. I miss seeing all your Goodreads post and engaging with my found book family here. Feel free to leave something humorous or life-affirming for me to read. This weary traveler is in need of a found family.

Though this is so far a heavy read, I find that sometimes this is just the right kind of companion to walk with when our own reality is harsh and heavy. Every chapter leaves me quiet.

This is the kind of found family I long for. I could use a Kizzy, Jenks, Dr. Chef, and Sissix in my life right now.

There's a quiet nerd factor that's giving me the warm fuzzies. Grateful to have this story in my life right now.

All caught up with my ratings for my 2025 reads. I have a notebook of thoughts I wrote down about each book, which will one day turn into reviews :). It's been fun revisiting these reads and remembering the defiant joy of choosing to be with these stories.

Oh the mystery! This is why we read. Can't wait till I reunite with this story again tonight. I wish I remembered how I came upon this story so I can thank them; it must has been someone from this wonderful Goodreads community.

Perusing through all the nominees and winners of this year's Goodreads Choice Awards. I like looking at the total votes for each category. Fun fun.

What an engrossing read thus far. I'm savouring the ending for my next session with this most unusual of stories.

My first Book Of The Month ever! Picked this one up because I decided I wanted to try and lean into my darkness. Let's see how this journey goes . . .

Em Grosland's voice for Mosscap the robot is adorkable :)

Diving back into the mind of Tchaikovsky :) Only on chapter 2, and this novella presents with a fascinating meld of fantasy and science fiction. The mysterious tension is remniscent of his Expert Systems novellas, and I'm here for it.

It's been a few days since I've finished reading Automatic Noodle and I'm still craving hand-pulled noodles! 🤖🍜

I love the texture of chewing al dente noodles. I can't wait to eat this book 🍜🤖

Picking this one up to let fiction explore current affairs. Though this was written in the early 70s, we still live in a world where might is right.

Eager to explore this novella. Grateful to have such wonders to read and listen to. I hope all my Goodreads friends have a choice story in hand today.

Coming off another solid Murderbot Diary, I'm excited to pick up my first Tanith Lee book. This one has been on my to-read list for a little while, so I'm pleased to see what curiosities await!

I just walked into a new bookstore cafe in Montreal. It's silly but I like the name, "Joie de Livres". They make it a point to shelve books by genre and not by language. We live in a world where people fear because they do not know, and they retreat to tribalism. Celebrating language diversity instead of enforcing it is the way.

Just realized this is not a novella! Hefty story this is for a Murderbot Diary 🤖.

Coming back to a familiar voice seeking comfort and adventure. It's hard to get both simultaneously!

Looking to be enveloped by the soft glow of a Becky Chamber-ish feel, I enter the world of Dorothy Gentleman. Don't worry Murderbot, I will come back to your fun feels soon enough!

I love the space between two books for all the possibilities.

The Travelling Cat Chronicles emotionally emptied me. I immediately picked up the fourth in the Murderbot series to level out. Thank you, Murderbot and your familiar soothing ways. Let the new adventure begin . . .

I unexpectedly enjoyed the first book All Systems Red, and I've been keen to continue this series. Let the adventures of Murderbot commence once again! . . .

The short story "Hook and Line" is so good that I just poured myself a fresh mug of coffee so I could sit down elsewhere and read the story again. I don't think I've ever re-read a story immediately after I've finished it. This story reminds me how much I dislike those "30 Under 30" lists. Youth can be cringy, awkward, and contrived. Give me "calloused hands and tender hearts".
