Still a bit baffled by this alternate future, while trying to imagine the 1960s.

Predictions of the future from the vantage point of the 1960s. Wild.

I'm feeling like I'm in a time-dilated reality these days, so it's nice to be with characters experiencing the same.

My silly mind keeps comparing this novel to Scalzi's Old Man's War.

Coming off of journeys with We Are Legion and Tau Zero, I figured I'd continue my time dilation space adventures with another classic. Feels good to finally get around to these to see what all the talk is about.

Barry Seidman I know it's his most famous - and fits too - but I couldn't get into this one. I did like two of his though. The Accidental Time Machine, and Camouflage.

I also liked his two Star Trek novels.

Peter I just finished The Forever War, and still processing it. I haven't read any of Haldeman's other works. Curious what the main reason was that you didn't get into this one.

Barry Seidman Not sure. It was a while ago. Maybe too close to real life? Maybe just the writing style for that book (series) as opposed to the 4 I read).
