Interesting… not super-thrilled with the young woman, all-about-me attribute. That’s integral to the storyline, I realize.

Wow, my 26th Joe Pickett book. Now with a Stephen King tweet/blurb on the cover. Still not depicting a small-town library director right, but then, Saddlestring must be huge.

Very insightful with helpful depictions of scientists who work in the fields of all things ecology.

I don’t get all the hype over this book. It’s like 2/3 of all the domestic thrillers out there. All characters are flat, less life than in
A miss Marple. And the psycho-babble reads, well as an attempt at psychological counseling, made palatable for the masses.

A really long 1st-person narrative. Hmm.

Easy enough, and I’m overdue for a well-received thriller.

JC Mellencamp's got nothin' on this "Of Mice and Men" comparable tale. Ronnie Black's quite the character, but how no one's shot him based on his behavior is past me. Still... 12% to go. The plot is thickening and advancing.

Oh, the folkiness…

Not much happens, story unfolds slowly with many digressions into the hearts of the characters. Author tries for depth, but there’s so much of this reflection that it comes off as hokey.

Like John Mellencamp wrote a novel. Tough folks and tough times.

Lee Martin donated this book to my favorite library. Going to read it to at the least keep it from the discards.

Definitely one to zip through. Writing is too… breezy. Characters are just haphazardly introduced… meh.

This is one odd detective/suspense title. Wife goes missing, and just one hour, 51 minutes after she’s absent from her normal daycare pick-up, the cops join en masse to investigate. By day 2, no one has thought to look in missing wife’s purse to search for house keys. No one asks! “Did she take her keys?”
Will skim through this one.

Twists await!

Nothing really happening, just the blown-up family drama with some back-story interweavings.

So talky, so many quips!

Really breezing through this. Not a domestic noir, more of a mom-daughter read. Strong and catty female leads; dad just hangs in the background.

Wow, this tome went from quippy/snappy to dour, weird and dumb very quickly. The main character’s mom is so poorly drawn. Is mom beyond depressed, is she not functional? Who knows, what with the slow-moving action ramping up. And ramping up now at 83% of the way in. Just let this book end.

Far in, it’s mostly quips, chatting, and teen-boy pondering. Hints that danger is nigh. I’m definitely not the right demographic for this, being over 60.

Wow, I didn’t realize that teenagers wanted so much quippy dialogue in their reads. I don’t read much YA, but this one’s a real eye-opener.

Noticeably more discussions than in the predecessor, Lost And Found. I enjoyed that title somewhat, more than this duo-logy sequel.
