This started off well. The idea of a poor boy who makes good through examination success and a scholarship resonated with me. The sex scenes were sufficiently brief as to not be too embarrassing. Later the scenes became less believable and more uncomfortable. Maybe they are of equal artistic merit, but I found myself struggling to keep going.

I may not finish the book.

The first part of this book is concerned with the orgins of Swiss banks, the directors and background. It's thorough, but not very gripping. I have now got to the point where WWII has just finished and the transactions between the SNB and the Reichsbank are being discussed. This is much more interesting and, even now, quite shocking.
