Jessie is on page 51 of 336 of Ancestral Medicine: Rituals for Personal and Family Healing
This book is for everyone who can accept there is an afterlife. The rituals are guided meditations, and the work has been generalized to accommodate any spiritual path. I've already used two exercises out of this book with good results.

A magical realism western. The prose is very beautiful in places. The pace is a little uneven, but never slogs.

Jessie is reading A Separate Reality: Further Conversations with Don Juan
I'm grateful to Castaneda for sharing Don Juan's wisdom. This is a series I will definitely re-read.

Saturn: the great boner killer, the disciplinarian, the Roman god who ate his children. I attended a Lights for Liberty rally to take a stand against racist immigration policy. I read Maya Angelou's I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings and Sins of the Spirit, Blessings of the Flesh by Matt Fox (not specifically Saturn energy, but very good medicine).

This book marries Christian and Easter Mysticism by relating the seven cardinal sins as misdirected energy in their corresponding chakras. It is eloquently written and very inspiring so far. I just finished Part I.

This book marries philosophy and science. It is both elegantly written and rigorously researched. The style immediately brought the late, great Oliver Sacks to mind. On a personal note, I'm discouraged by the findings presented in chapter four. The science implies a pattern of insecure attachment was hard-wired into me as an infant, and it's something I will have to learn to live with rather than be able to heal.

I already love this book. It speaks directly to me. A lot of the psychology I've figured out for myself (I've been doing Jungian-style self awareness development since 2016), but the depth of information and exercises here are illuminating. I will definitely be purchasing my own copy. (I "try before I buy" from the library when possible.)

I'm pausing after each planet to read a book or two I feel embodies the essence of each. For Mercury, I read Trickster Makes This World by Lewis Hyde. I'm reading Venus stories now, and will until I understand her power. (In case you're curious, I have Sun, Mercury, and Mars in Leo, Venus in Cancer, Moon and Ascending Scorpio.)
