Someone… protect him. 😭

I have always enjoyed SJM books even though the more recent ones have not been objectively that good. But… this writing. I cannot stand how this book is written. I’m currently just pushing through to see what happens to the characters I’ve cared about throughout the series. Help.

I’m sorry. The constant use of half sentences or few-word sentences to make this sound more edgy(??) is driving me insane. Please, someone who has read this book in its entirety, can you tell me if this book is even worth finishing? The half sentences are on almost every page. I can’t do it if it’s not worth it.

Two things:
1. It’s been about 2 1/2 years since I read Empire of Storms and you won’t catch me rereading that. So I have no idea what’s going on most of the time or who most of these people are lol. I’m even having trouble remembering Tower of Dawn. Oh well.
2. The writing. In this book. Is so terrible. Wtf. How did this all get past an editor?

I really wish I would take the time to go back and re-star all the old reads on my shelves. My opinions have changed so much on so many reads. Don't trust any of my old star ratings/reviews alone. I'm a different person now. I don't know her.

I'm trying to be more active on here this year to keep better track of the books I'm reading. This means I will be a lot more lax on here. If I feel inclined to write a review I will, but that's not exactly likely for most books. I am always willing to respond to comments, though! I had a lot of problems with ACOWAR, but for some reason I find myself so comfortable being back in this world. I really hope I end up enjoying this one.

I definitely have respect for Lara Jean for how she handled that conversation.

Ooooof. Josh just lost at least 20 points for the, "You're not like the other girls," comment. Maybe more. Undecided.

I have had an amazing day…
It started out with my boyfriend and I reading each other's favorite fantasy series. He read Finnikin of the Rock while I read Eragon for a bit. Nerd goals.
Then, we ate pizza and brownies while watching Parks and Rec.
To top it off, I got to meet my best friend's new pet chinchilla?? The chinchilla's name is Caravaggio. I got to hold and play with a chinchilla. Amazing.

Okay, but we all know from whom these flowers actually came, right? This is a total Hallmark movie move, but I'm here for it.

I've shocked myself and picked this up after a glowing series recommendation from my boyfriend. It's been in the back of my closet since I was around 10. We will see how this goes, but I like it so far??

I just hit up the BookOutlet Black Friday sale and bought 16 books for $50 shipped! My heart and wallet are satisfied.

Just spent the last hour outlining a lot of the problems I had with the book I just finished over text to my boyfriend. He kept asking questions about it, too. He hasn't even read the book. He was just happy to let me talk about it.
Having a boyfriend who also loves books is fun. 10/10 would recommend.

THEORY: Alina is the firebird and there is no actual firebird animal. Alina was found in Dva Stolba. It's been way more difficult to find than the other amplifiers. Maybe ALINA is the firebird and *gasp* she's been there all along. "Plot twist"

I don't know how… but this book got arguably much better in the span of 60 pages.

Okay. Today is the day I push through this one. I'm not sure if I'll be able to finish it today, but I'm definitely going to make some major progress. If I don't, I'll be very annoyed with myself, since I'm posting now about how I WILL push through this today. Let's go.

Hi guys. I'm here to talk about my boyfriend a little because I feel like Goodreads will like him.
He's bookish and he loves cats. Need I say more? I'm going to.
He loves Lord of the Rings. We went to Barnes and Nobles during our second date. Today for example we went out for pizza and he suggested we go to the B&N close by. And he's got SO many good bookish boyfriend qualities. Except he's real.

Dang, I thought that since there was no Aelin, Rowan, or fae at all in this book, I might be able to avoid the whole "Male"/"Mate"/weird animalistic terms for people. But nope. I still cringe. Who the heck says, "Rowan was a good male." That's just weird.

Okay, so I am, like, all for these two new ships I'm being presented with. Sartaq and Nesryn will probably be a thing. Yrene and Chaol will definitely be a thing. I just… need this to not be an affair thing. Either Chaol or Nesryn needs to end things with each other soon. Please and thanks.
