I may have not picked this book up in over a week, possibly two. Time to continue!

I'm loving this one now, the characters are all so endearing.

I am finding the start of this one so strange. It is completely unlike anything I was expecting.

Part 5: This section is really short and just quickly wraps up each characters' stories for this book and sets things up ready for the next book. It was great to see Kaladin and Shallan both learning about and understanding what they can do. We also finally got the explanation for the short paragraphs at the start of the chapters. I also liked the bit with Dalinar understanding his visions better.

Part 4: That was insane! I'm not sure at what point something changed but now I'm enjoying Dalinar's story almost as much as Kaladin's. It was great to see the two of them finally join up at the end of this section. The last few chapters of this part are so exciting and crazy and I was gripped, wanting to know what happens next. I want to know so much more about the Parshendi.

Part 3: Something crazy would have to happen for me not to give this book five stars, I'm loving it! It was nice to get back to Shallan's story in this part. I could happily continue to read about her adventures as Jasnah's ward and Kaladin's adventures in bridge four, but obviously we are now moving on to the next part of the story. The excerpts from Kaladin's past seem to have caught up with where we met him.

Part 2: I missed Shallan's point of view in this section. I'm really enjoying Kaladin 's story though; Sil intrigues me and I love her character. Dalinar and Adolin's part of the story frequently confuses me, but is also enjoyable. The interludes are from different points of view and seem really random, but I'm assuming they will become important knowledge and make more sense at some point.

Part 1: It took me a few chapters from each characters' perspectives to get invested in their respective stories, but now I am very intrigued by Kaladin and Shallan and their stories. I love all the cool creatures, plants and especially the Spren. So far I'm finding the writing much more lyrical than the Mistborn trilogy which I'm enjoying.

I love the way that Shallan's drawing is described, it's beautiful.

Is this supposed to be a weird reference to Brexit in a children's book, that only adults would understand?

Dread Night: a very short, enjoyable, story following a Grey Knight on a planet overrun with both daemons and tyranids.

The Word of the Silent King: this was another necron story, where they ally with the humans to defeat the tyranids. A cool little story that swaps between the necron and human points of view.

Devourer: This was a really interesting story that puts the necrons against the tyranids while also fighting their own flayers. There are also a few blood angels that make an appearance trying to fight the tyranids too.

Tempestus: This was my favourite story of this book so far. An Inquisitor is searching for a new xenos species on an ocean planet, while a Cannoness fights to eradicate heretics. Surprisingly there weren't too many tyranids in this one, but it felt more like the Warhammer horror stories.

Shadow of the Leviathan: Another gem from Josh Reynolds! This short follows a psyker as they take on the tyranids, which was an interesting new way to see the tyranids being fought.

Deathstorm: Finally the awesome Tyranid story that I was expecting. Josh Reynolds writes a gripping story following a squad of Blood Angels as they try to locate a man on a planet being devoured by tyranids.

The Last Days of Ector: Guy Haley did a much better job writing from the human point of view rather than the Eldar. This story of the tyranids overwhelming a give world was enjoyable and action packed.

Wraithflight: A very short story once again featuring Iyanna as she defeats more tyranids, 15 planets on from the last story.

Valedor: really slow start with lots of Eldar politics. A bit more action towards the end. Not enough tyranids. Follows Iyanna again.

I'm hooked, there are so many questions I want answers to. The training scenes briefly reminded me of Divergent.
