Didn’t manage to finish before release day (yay for netgalley arcs, boo for me not reading fast enough) but oh my god. Took me a while to get into it but Eddy has really endeared himself to me over the first couple hundred pages.

sometimes i really miss dev bio. i do Not however miss dense philosophy

much like the cars inching through traffic on robert moses's ever-expanding (yet ever-congested) highways, i too am crawling along at a glacial pace

Many, many months later, finally finished “Leading Out the Regiment.”

Out: in-depth explanations of the financial intricacies of honest graft.

In: Robert Moses uses tollpayer dollars to build a martini fountain.

keep losing this libby loan before i can finish the audiobook… can’t wait to hear the rest in 7-8 weeks

do Not read while eating

had approximately zero idea what I was getting into with this one but i’m thrilled to be here

frankly i was still reeling from the extraordinary back-to-back of One Year/The Candidate/Order Number 129 when Robert Caro hit me with Two Brothers. a chapter straight out of cartoon villainry fr !!

alas, my time has come

my year of big books continues. love learning about bureaucracy and local politics and how Moses navigates and manipulates both.
