I was going to set a goal next year to not add books to my TBR.

Then I laughed.

I AM determined to whittle it down though.

I don’t think there’s actually a story here. I think the author just wanted to vomit out their world building under the guise of a story.

I’ll finish this tomorrow at work, which means I need to find something else to bring with me to kill the rest of the time.

Someone needs to tell the geniuses (/s) at Goodreads to release all the challenges for the year at the end of the previous year. I hate surprises (I’m not the only one), and would much rather plan my reading ahead of time.

I’m giving this book by customary 50 pages (or the end of that chapter) before I decide if I’m continuing.

I’m not a fan of constant descriptions. I’m very much a visual person, so the endless details do nothing for me. As it is, I’m 32 pages in and most of that has been description after description. Many of which feel shoehorned in to extend the word count.

I’m trying so, so hard to like this one. Idk if it’s going to happen. It feels like everything is being looked at from the middle. Conversations starting in the middle. Events that make no real sense. Descriptions for the sake of descriptions. Like… this doesn’t feel like the beginning of a story.

I feel like I should be more than 65% in…

I’m working now. A whole ass desk job in an office. Which means answering phones. So… this is the first time I’m reading and not listening to the series (audio counts as reading 🖕🖕 🖕). Gonna be so weird.

Holy fucking shit. Does this book even have a purpose? It’s a fucking slog. I’m on page 135 of 624, and there is sooooo much nonsense it’s not even funny. At this rate, a good 300 pages could be cut out and still nothing would happen.
