Holy fucking shit. Does this book even have a purpose? It’s a fucking slog. I’m on page 135 of 624, and there is sooooo much nonsense it’s not even funny. At this rate, a good 300 pages could be cut out and still nothing would happen.

Reading again. Gonna binge the trilogy.

I did what I do every time I make good headway with reading: I burn out doing the challenges. I haven’t touched a book in weeks.

I deleted every GR/Kindle challenge from my reading tracker, and I’m going back to what I originally planned which was to focus on clearing out my home shelves.

Fuck challenges. Doesn’t help most of the books we have to choose from are shit.

Does anyone know if the dumb DNF shelf GR finally added takes away reviews you left on a DNF? If I can delete a shelf, I will, but not if it’s going to remove or hide my DNF reviews.

Okay, so. As readers, we 100% do not owe any author a review. Reviews are our space to do what we please with them.

But omg, I do wish (and I’m guilty of this too) more 1-star reviewed books had reasons why the reader didn’t finish it. Sometimes they’re the best reviews for a book. Or down right hilarious. Sometimes bordering on mean. But still. I want to know whhhhyyyyy someone rated it 1-star.

I really wish GR would list all of their challenges for the year instead of keeping them a “surprise.” There is no logical reason for them to stay secret, and it would 10/10 help me plan my reading for the year easier. I won’t read every challenge (there are 2 I won’t get this round. Don’t want them. Don’t care for the genres.), but it would still be nice to know ahead of time.

I have a ton of books from the library, and I’m returning all but 3. I’m binning off the reading challenges (maybe) that GR does and focusing on the books on my actual shelves for a while.

I really need to finish one of these books I have started 😂😂
