The FMC is insufferable, lying all the time.

It doesn’t read like Victorian era

Struggling with the book, since I don’t care for people pleaser FMC

I find the idea very interesting, but I am struggling with the writing style. It is mostly „tell, not show“ and it takes me out of the story and just thinking about how unnatural dialogues sound:
„Person 1 says this, then person 2 says that“

So far I am really enjoying this

The story is interesting, but it doesn’t read like dark academia, enemies to lovers or romance at all. I am at 61% and we have a kidnapped priest whose grandfather was a Nazi scientist. The whole plot is about guilt passed on to the next generation and retaliation.
