I'm a bit uncertain about this one, and that's a big first with this author. Plus, there's cutesy already in it. Nobody likes cutesy.

I don't get this book. Actually I don't get why the main characters are shaped the way they are. A 50yo adolescent and a tough body guard scared of his brother. Seriously?! What were the authors thinking?! Unrealistic and disappointing.

200 pages?! Seriously?!

Wow. Once you read into a little bit, the death notice in advance really is heavy. The weird thing is, it's not really a metaphor or sci-fi or fantasy thing. We all die one day we don't know up ahead. In real life, we too have our notice. The difference between novel and life is that in the novel they pay attention to it. This should be interesting.

The pain of loss and being left behind is beautifully captured. I think it's the first time I'm not screaming in my head: But get over yourself airway and move on!!
I am so pre-ordering the 3rd of the series.

I was afraid this might be very angsty because of the loss of partner, but it's really not. It's soft and considerate. This being my second Con Riley novel, I have to say she writes beautifully.

This is seriously nice and sweet. Just talking and carrying a conversation. Nothing is sexier than a man who can keep up a conversation.

I think a lot of readers see the mother as the villain, but I think the biggest monster in this story is Bear. The mother hurt two people, Bear viciously, repeatedly hurts every single person in this story. I hope he gets hit by a car, that would be my ideal happy ending here.

Kresley Cole's voice is screaming in my head Darwin says people like you need to die!!.. No, wait! that's my voice. God, Bear is such a hopeless twat!!

I had to check and make sure this isn't actually an L.A. Witt or Skylar book where you, as reader, are forced into a position of helplessness while being savagely raped emotionally.

And I love how Marilyn Monroe is a recurring motif and how some of her movies are name dropped. Like Monica Bellucci, she makes everything better.

I'm not sure how this will evolve into MM, but it's definitely off to a good start. Funny fact: at around 2% I was convinced I was reading paranormal, like MM Twilight, or something. Lol.

So many people like this novel, but so far I think it's so annoying. And very often I don't understand what is being talked about, or who is who.

I really don't get why they are so worked up about Jordan's opinion. I found his treatment of Scott and his attitude towards Scott's homosexually terribly offensive. Some things you just don't say out loud, simply because. *Insert eyes roll*

Ok. This one is funny. I had my serious laugh-out-loud moment.

At around 50-60%the story behind suffocating. I keep waiting for the axe to fall. Some event of monumental angst to explode into the storyline. It's distracting to the nth degree.
