A really practical way to think about constructing a meal. Why doesn’t everyone realize this is the best way to approach cooking?

I love this part of the book where the main character Zora paints. “It’s a fantastical hybrid tree. A magical tree from a fairytale.” A perfect solution to what a person does when their city is under siege and you’re trapped and unable to flee.

I can already tell this is going to be a wonderful book because the description of Sarajevo and the introduction to the characters is intriguing and captivating.

Such an interesting story of an Australian book restoration expert and the journey of one of the earliest Jewish volumes ever to have illumination illustrations. I’d never heard of the Sarajevo Haggadah but it is stunning. Geraldine Brooks is becoming one of my most favorite authors with her flair of mixing a wonderful story, history, and amazing characters.

I am thoroughly enjoying this book. Plus having the fun of switching back-and-forth between an audiobook and the print. I love the characters in this one.

I mean, who can’t enjoy a book that centered around Mesopotamia and the ancient wonders of that area. This has been an unexpected delight.

At first this book was confusing and I almost quit, but now I rather like it. Maybe I should say I really am intrigued by it.

So many twists and turns, the story changes direction and presents information that I have no idea how it relates to the story. But it’s interesting. Then suddenly. It connects.

Interesting and it has grabbed me from the first page. Lamb’s writing is varied and the cadence is varied so you get a sense of the character’s mood. I don’t think I’ve read someone else’s writing like this.

The writing is clever and funny. It’s something I might hear from a conversation with a friend. So much pain and love and hope comes out. There are phrases I want to remember.

So many unexpected twists, and turns. Picoult keeps the plot, entertaining and wondering what will happen next I will say while I’m all for women’s rights, Picoult could have used a lighter hand reminding us on every page of that importance.

Wow, all the twists and turns. I didn’t anticipate half of these. It makes the story fun to read and interesting. I have no idea how this will turn out although I’m in entertaining several options.
