I didn’t even know LitRPG was a thing when I received this book on a recommendation of a friend. Surprisingly entertaining, but often a bit too gritty for my taste when it comes to the language and crude jokes. Still, it’s not boring, so I read it all the way through. Will definitely read the next in the series, as I find I can’t look at fancy cats without thinking, “Donut.”

This book took me off guard. Recommended by a friend as I was lamenting my life, regretting missed opportunities, wondering about what would’ve been, shoulda / woulda / coulda kind of mindset. This book took what was in my head and put it into a story, and it was powerful. I need to reread it with a highlighter, I think, to get the brunt of it. Simple concept, powerful execution.
