While the history is interesting, between the anti-femininity opinions stated as fact and the horrible editing job…I’m disappointed

Issue 5 is pure fan service and I am absolutely here for it, have not stopped laughing.

Wish I had more time to absorb this instead of speed reading it for class, hopefully I'll get to reread it sometime.

I think if I was reading this I'd dislike it but I really love being able to hear the author's tone!

Oh boy, this audio is not great! I think the amount of sarcasm yields itself to audio better than print but the editing gives it that annoying tinny sound? Content is v good so far but we'll see if I can get used to the audio

Black Lightning/Hong Kong Phooey: um. 3.5 stars, maybe? I don’t know the source material for the talking Kung fu dog so I probably shouldn’t say anything about it. I do love that Jeff is just friends with this talking dog since he’s like the last person you would expect to be like “this is a totally normal situation”

Love the phantom gun protections story, as cringey as it is

I love this storyline so much, I love how much Morrison GETS these boys

Aquaman/Jabberjaw: 4 stars, enjoyable but hella cheesy and I groaned more than once. The extra story was great for once!

Adam Strange/Future Quest: 5 stars! I wasn’t looking forward to this one because Adam’s always seemed like kind of a boring passive character to me and I don’t know anything about the Quest team but wow I loved this! Now I have to hunt down Future Quest stuff because wow what a great found family.

Flash/Speed Buggy: 3 stars. Nothing special, somehow both more serious and more silly than the other issues which kinda canceled each other out. Lobdell keeps reminding me why he’s my least favorite comic writer.

Suicide Squad/Banana Splits: uh, 3 stars? I don’t know, it was fine! The art was good! Harley’s so pretty. That’s my thoughts.

Green Lantern/Space Ghost: 4.5 The art is PERFECT, I love LOVE the change in background style when they get to the planet. The story is solid and the understanding these two come to was surprisingly empathetic. Now I want to read more about the girl! The extra story sucked, though. Was absolutely terrible.

Booster Gold/Flintstones: 3.5 stars, didn't really utilize the Flintstones at all other than my new favorite panel of Boost calling Fred "hey you, beefcake." Love BG's unorthodox plans in any time period.

Reading these three volumes wildly out of order:
Super Sons/Dynomutt: like 4.8 stars, I don't normally deduct points for art especially since I've seen worse but it stopped it from being totally flawless

I've read plenty of trans sex scenes but 99% were by trans authors and none have made my skin crawl like this one written by a cis woman. I'm also cis but I am UNCOMFORTABLE
