The stress this book put me through, I can’t even say. Still liked it though so double points

“She was an entire weather system in the shape of a girl.” I swear I’ve read this before in a book of poetry but google seems clueless

Seem to have a reluctant bi main character maybe (?) guy stumbles on someone bathing and is disappointed to find out it’s a man? Like my dude you were dating the other character a book or so back? Did author forget they weren’t writing straight fiction or what 🤣

Plot is interesting but I’m lukewarm on the relationships between the characters. We have a couple that are already together and a guy they have an antagonistic relationship with. I have emotional whip lash from all the shutting him out and welcoming him back that’s going on.

I’m not unhappy with that plot choice lol

Main character comparing himself to a child predator who tortures animals in a whole ‘are we so different’ monologue while he watches the guy luring a young girl in to a hut so he can eh… “He was as much a slave to his cruelty as I was to my vengeance.” Alarm bells are ringing for me so hard. We do get that child predators choose to prey on children right? Or are we all powerless creatures with no autonomy?

I skipped a few female characters because they were side characters, but I’ve now met “little more than a girl.” and I am assured she might be pretty under all that grime but she’s too scrawny to pique his lust apparently, such a shame for her. Glad every female character gets placed on the ‘how hot is she’ scale (often) before I even learn her name.

Yay a second female character, “There was Gerthe second only to Lorine as the object of my lust.” Shame the MC is still a creep.

“For one suffering the boundless lust of youth, I couldn’t help but stare at her whenever the chance arose.”

Pages didn’t get to double digits and the main character is that creepy kid who sits in the corner and stares at girls with his mouth hanging open 🤣 hopefully I’ll eventually get that image out my head.

“To call the looks she got ‘dirty’ would be an insult to dirt.”

It might not even be a mistake (but there are enough mistakes that it could be) but I must admit enjoying an emperor referring to someone rushing to execute a relative as ‘feckless’ 😂 It was probably supposed to be reckless but I still enjoy it.

Not as trashy as the title lead me to believe it would be, main character is darn adorable and the intro is a 10/10 for getting people to care about a character damn quick. May work better on animal people than others…

Fully in to a scene (ok mostly) and all the sudden one character presses his thumb against the other characters mouth??? For no particular reason they were busy trauma bonding and going all ‘caring is weakness’ Batman vibes… and then he just sticks his thumb in her mouth… and apparently he tastes like blood and denim…. So sanitary. Supposed to be all dark and broody but it missed and became funny 😝

So far every third character seems to be beautiful so that has lost all meaning now 🤣

I swear if a fight scene is paused one more time so we can go in to the background of the characters involved and how they interacted a decade ago and how this relates to the different sects Blabla, I am going to scream.

This one is a bit of a struggle, she fakes her death, comes back and finds her best friend absolutely heart broken over the whole thing and is still like ‘welp guess I can never tell him I’m alive now’ like it’s just seeming a bit cruel at this point. It’s less heart warming more, loaded pistol and a box of TNT in the corner

“But, but… but…. But…. That is no story. That is not even half of one. Your story is only half-delicious.” Never have I read something in a book that has made my think… yeah, that’s how I feel about this book. 🤨 half a book ago I loved it but now I can’t wait till it ends

A Book so good I’m already planning to start a folder of favourite books to distinguish it from all the other things I’ve given five stars 🌟 I may be in love

Wow it managed just over thirty pages before becoming extremely creepy. I am looking forward to setting this book on fire 🔥

So far I’m getting young female Tony stark meets older female Harry Dresden and they get in a heck ton of trouble with magical science. :’) this kind of sweet goodness brings a tear to the eye.
