Thinking of rereading Turtles All the Way Down. 🐢

I feel I did not give it a fair rating, and upon having dealt with what Ava struggles with over the past few years, can reread it in this new understanding and light.

Very interesting! The writing makes me feel like I’m in history itself. Though very dark at times so have to pace myself.

really dislike this book so far. Alex is infuriating, Sierra’s mother enables him under the guise of being a “wise Christian woman,” and Sierra is blamed for not going along with decisions made without her. I skipped ahead—he cheats, and the answer is basically “God can change him.” Hard no. The journal entries and language are uncomfortable. Also… my mother-in-law gave me this book. Yikes.

One of my favorite reads ever! So glad I decided to read this one.

Very informative yet easy to read. Eager to finish this one. Very refreshing after lots of duds I’ve picked up this year.

LOCKED IN. Amanda’s choices for herself and her girls tick me off, but I am absolutely invested to see if/how she and Lina will escape.

I was really looking forward to reading this book, but she has a really weird obsession with talking about ethnic and sexual identities.

It’s interesting, but the pacing is a bit slow for my taste, and I’m not a fan of the interviews and emails that take up the majority of the book. This is one of those rare instances where the movie is better than the novel.

Reading a little bit day by day and am learning a ton of helpful information about mindfulness. 🥰

Interesting format. Most pages are email entries from various characters or POV of Bernadette’s daughter Bee.

I’m intrigued, but it’s off putting that the main character has to spell out certain words. I’m not sure why he does this, but and maybe it is explained later. The out of body description felt very real.
