Taking this super slow, one devotional at a time, and so far I really like it but I feel kind of dumb. It's pretty intellectual.

Have cried through every profile of the victims. These poor families. This is a well written and sensitive account of what happened, and I feel like I am being respectful of the families by reading it.

Every two paragraphs, my heart breaks for this woman!

oh my goodness FINALLY this book is out. I've been waiting for this story since book 1

Read almost half this book in one sitting (yes I should have been doing other things) and can't wait to come back to it. Whoa!

Really enjoying this book although it's more cerebral than the junk I've been consuming, haha.

I hate this book! There's no romance ("his dimple made me smile" is the extent of the crush 80% in), these teenagers are lying to their parents about a secret, impromptu trip to Ireland when they should be in Italy, not to mention the fmc's brother is excellent at football but hates it and no one knows how into music he is. So unrealistic for 15 year olds. Also I've been jetlagged so it's taking forever to finish.

The format of this is UNIQUÍSIMO 😍

I'm desperate to be done with this book and going to take a long (permanent?) break from Elisabeth Elliot.

Just getting started with this thanks to the author and Netgalley. Already loving it. Sarah makes a life that seems impossible (quiet, studious, beautiful, enraptured with God), accessible.

Now I'm over half way through and I still do not like Clara. She is so dense. I do not like dumb female main characters. She doesn't know she's burned out at work, she doesn't know what a good friend is, she doesn't know she's grieving her parents' divorce, she doesn't know that Mack loves her, she doesn't know that pregnancy is not the climax of parenthood.... She's just dumb and I hate her.

Barely started this book and already hate the main character, who is such a feelings-averse workaholic she can't take a 5-day paid vacation her boss insists she take so she can be better at her job. Is this really the reputation millennials have? Do we really think the world will fall apart if we're not holding it? This better get better.

With the exception of vacation to London in July, I've read every day. Was hard to catch up but I think I'm back.

Just started this. I'm elder, and not feeling like a millennial at all, except for the challenges I've faced do match up.

I put this book off for weeks thinking it was going to be dark and sad. The trigger warnings are loud in summaries and reviews, and there's even a content warning at the beginning because the book deals with suicide and sibling death.

But it's beautiful. The characters are absolutely stunning, and this is a story about two traumatized enneagram 4s falling in forbidden love. I can't wait to see how it ends.

I want to love this book because I love Kate Clayborn, but it's falling a bit short. It's so slow, and Jess is sullen (the MMC says stormy), which I don't love. But the mystery is interesting so I'm going to keep going.

Story and characters: so cute. Absolutely hate the amount of language. It's bordering on trashy, honestly.

Almost 60%. Still do not like the best friend, and now the FMC is driving me crazy too. Also, the heat is so hot, and I'm not even talking about steamy stuff, but I can't figure out WHY they like each other. They just have a connection, which is mostly sexual. Just one scene of actual connection between the two main characters would have helped this love story feel more realistic.

I am one third in and I don't like the main character's best friend AT ALL. But I have this inkling that she's being the way she is because she's trying to get the main character and the love interest together. Which is adorable. Argh Carley's books always take forever! But in a good way.

I am so excited to be reading this book.

Reading this with English book club. They are finding it very challenging.

The story is so good because the theology is so bad, I think. 😳

Wow. This is a truly messed up family (in a truly messed up community), and I can see why it's memoir-worthy. The intense but false Catholicism is putting me off. It's so hard to read.

Loving the M'Cheyne plan. So far I read while drinking my coffee and don't worry about journaling or anything else unless I feel like it.
