Part II - College Training in Engineering is probably the most dated & practical section of the text giving an introduction into college life, engineering curriculum, report writing, graphics, tools and methods of problem solving used by engineers.

Interesting introduction to the engineering profession, the various technical roles, branches, career opportunities and futures circa 1962.
Next up: training to be an engineer.

I can only imagine the stress, propaganda and hopelessness during a time of war in the USA. Reading about Tokyo Rose and the charade she was put through after WWII and her patriotism and optimism never wavering was awe inspiring.

Just finished the Barbary War story and it floored me. I have no recollection of learning about this part of America’s history as a fledgling nation dealing with the Islamic dictators of Northern Africa. They remain the same radicals and our nation has still not learned and weakly try to pay for an unobtainable peace. My brother in law was a Marine and I’m glad I now know some of the history behind them.

Still slow going. The stories are becoming more scientific and supernatural. SPACE is especially haunting.

Just finished the Monster Maker by W.C. Morrow. So far I've been underwhelmed by the stories. The most engaging I've read have been Jules Verne & W.C.Morrow both of which I feel ended too abruptly without going far enough.

End of Part III. Still, nothing is happening. At least there is some supporting character development within the nurses sent to Scutari.

End of Part II. A slow-moving novel, but Catherine is finally off to the Crimea with the robot Miss Nightingale. Deio is still an angry ass trying to control Catherine.

Finished part 1 Catherine has left Wales & Deio.

I'm struggling to stay in this story. I find Saba's tale interesting, but Dom is just dragging and childish.

What am I reading??? I am struggling to get through this book. I feel no connection with Franny, am super confused by her motivations, and honestly feel like she is insane. I am repulsed by Franny. How will she make it to the Antarctic?

I really hate Haley Cooper. She is a weak and whiny narrator. This book needs more Reid Everett.

This just keeps getting stranger and stranger. I'm finally to the interesting part in the cavern, but I the characters keep taking off on weird tangents. I guess I'll keep going because I have to know how it ends.

I'm not a fan. Jude is a jerk and deserves his haunting. Why does Georgia stay with him? How are they still alive after 62% through the book? Craddock is a creepy ghost who should have been successfully by now.
