Come dicevo, la storia di Alice era e resta un'ode allo squallore. Pensavo che fosse un problema di ciò che la circonda, ma adesso temo di dover ammettere che è lei stessa a essere squallida. Raramente mi capita un personaggio che mi urta in questo modo. Trovo la sua bassezza completamente ingiustificata.

Devo ammettere che il racconto di Alice e questa sorta di... ode allo squallore mi fa venire una terribile orticaria. D'altro canto vedo perfettamente il potenziale della storia in sé, quindi mi accingo a continuare con entusiasmo. Lo squallore resta, però, detestabile.

SPOILER ALERT! I like secondary characters more than the main ones in this book, and I'm not super fond of the main couples either. Even so, I still think they should be together because of reasons, so really, when something began to spark between Elish and Killian I was like "Lord, no", and I thought I would hate it but... It was sexy. Goddamnit, it was so hot. I loved it. I didn't know I need it until it happened.

Oh my God, I don't usually put comments to my reading progress, but Goddamn, Reno and Silas kissing was a hundred times hotter than anything I've ever read in this series. Holy shit. I was waiting for that. Hoping for that. They are so PERFECT. And Reno is basically everything this family needs to get their shit together. Just... Reno and Silas, Reno and Silas, Reno and Silas, Reno and Silas, Reno and Silas!!!

I'm going slow, oh so slow, but I'm actually enjoying it more reading it chapter by chapter without rushing though. Jonrya is also very strong in this book (well, in the previous ones as well, but here it's more explicit) and that pleases me lots.

I'm not in the right mood to finish this one, though it's quite interesting. I'm just not too much into military stuff at the moment. Will pick up again when I feel like it again,

I was expecting this to be a little bit more... engaging, I guess. It's plot-centered, which would be fine if it wasn't so technical. I don't like the MC either. Nor the second lead character. This book feels kinda bland.

How did they go from abuse to love is beyond me.

i still don't know how i feel about this book :/ i'm trying, since everyone recommends it, but i can't get into it. it's not that it's bad, just not particularly engaging? so far at least.
