Effortlessly brilliant. Have finished reading 2 of the 3 parts, and it is a brilliant documentation of our incredibly dystopian shared global reality. Highly recommended.

Extraordinary documentation of the Asian holocaust, packaged like a crime thriller. Fabulous writing. If this quality is maintained through the book, it should become a textbook for journalists covering conflict and war. Super impressed, let's see how this ends

So far sounds exactly like Karen's account of Africa.. Very condescending, extremely shallow - especially for an academic. Most of it reads like "See, i went to a poor person's house and wrote about it". Too anecdotal and we never get a sense of the scale of "problems" described here. And oh the problems. There are issues, but most of it seems to be highlighted and exaggerated just to sound intellectual and critical

Compilation of complaints masquerading as essays, written by a bunch of 23-28 year olds. While the issues raised are interesting and the content informative, the holier-than-thou tone makes it sound like listening to a know-it-all grandpa who speaking about how great life was back in the day. So much potential, ruined by lack of depth. The book is certainly not a waste of time, but I hope it gets better from here

Ever imagined an Instagram reel version of a book? I don't mean this in a derogatory way. The rich content is a discussion for another day, when I'm done with this book. I'm currently in awe of this refreshing storytelling format for an attention deficient world

So far otha ommaley level. If the book follows through with the Lucid, sharp prose and thriftiness with words, it could end up emulating The Prize - considered by many as the greatest book on commodities ever written. On intensity of research and scale, Prize will remain far ahead though.

So far, perfect example of how not to write a book. The Delhi/Gujju-maaru or Kolkata-bhadralok types should continue to lobby for big business houses or become businessmen instead of trying to write books. Just become rich, eat your cholesterol-filled sweets and work on weight loss from mid forties and then die like any human. Why write books? Sadistic. And then the predictable, equally terrible reviews. Chi
