I am trying so hard to like this series but I cannot stand Darrow and Mustang is a stupid af name for a main character.

Communicating goes a long way, Grey. If this is another 200 pages of “well we kiss all the time but he obviously doesn’t like me” imma throw my phone.

I picked up this book primary because I found it at the thrift and follow the author (who is funny and has good takes imo) HOWEVER this is *very* young teen (thought it was more YA)

Weighing in: you do not “need” to read manacled first; in fact, it’s probably better if you didn’t so you won’t be trying to make comparisons.

This story has gone through massive transformations; characters removed, entirely different relationships between others. Def now something that stands separate from the two fictions it was created from.
