First part of the book was a little long and drawn out

This narrator is so unlikable. She cannot fathom why her husband would want to make a new version of her but I can. She is just awful.

This book is so unrealistic I’m having a hard time enjoying it

3.5 ⭐️ The plot and the twists were really good. The writing and editing, not so much.

A lot of characters, having some trouble following all the threads. And I’m not sure the “bombshells” the author believes he has found are that big of a deal. But….300 pages to go. We shall see

Did not finish

Ugh. Don’t know if I can finish this. In one breath she’s telling us the reason we drink is because we’re oppressed and white men are the reasons for all our problems. In the next she’s telling us to recognize we have agency and full control over what happens to us and the ability to shape our own circumstances . Which is it? I’m so tired of being told I’m a victim because I’m a woman.

While this book clearly demonstrates that social media can have dangerous impacts on society, this book is way too one-sided for me. It lumps all conservatives in with the alt-right and implies that the right are the only ones using social media for evil. I am trying to finish it because the author makes some important points, but the bias is frustrating

What I was expecting: a book about the dangers of social media and the effect it has on our brains and society

What I’ve gotten so far: a book about the dangers of white men and Trump

I feel like I’m just reading The Woman in the Window, but set on a lake. Hoping it gets better…

I just want it to be over

Aghhh this book is so detailed and intricate. Struggling to get through it. Interesting but could have been edited down...a lot. A lot.
