Can not put this down. Johnson camp vs. Kennedy camp skirmishes in the immediate aftermath are disappointing to learn of but understandable given what just happened. A few areas are heavy-handed, but overall a shocking and moving account.

Extremely detailed account of those last days, including intimate family interactions, the political climate of the day, and the volatile public in Dallas at the time. Completely hooked.

I would suggest that those who complain about all that is supposedly wrong with Toledo and NW Ohio read this. Compared to Detroit's challenges and legitimate horrors, we really have little to legitimately bitch about. Riveted by this book.

Insight into how Los Alamos was chosen, set up and administered. Interesting counterpoint to the book I read recently about the process of setting up the uranium enrichment facility in Oak Ridge, TN- 'The Girls of Atomic City.'

Allegedly tried to poison his tutor at Cambridge with a chemical-soaked apple. Amazingly, this does not appear to have had any lingering negative effect on his career.

I've read just about everything about her, so its pretty cool to find a book with some new perspectives (to me, anyhow) from characters that knew her early in life.

In 1942 a city was built in Tenn. and populated with young women who were secretly enriching uranium for the Manhattan Project. Truth IS stranger than fiction. This will be fascinating!

Nothing screams 'beach read' like a Christoper Hitchens-edited compendium of Atheist thought. Getting bogged down in the pre-industrial age section. Should have just jumped directly to Carl Sagan!

When I meet Scott Fitzgerald in hell (and I have no doubt that is where the meeting will occur), I'm giving him a piece of my mind. He stole every female character from his wife's journals while at the same time blaming her for all of his life's shortcomings.

Interested in how some of these stories, some of which went on to be developed into novels or used as movie ideas, started out. Author starts each story with some background on how it came to be, etc.
