“A purpose of human life, no matter who is controlling it, is to love whoever is around to be loved.”

Random 2 am curiosity attack followed up by me getting a book on the subject.

In series is come a long way in short span from from Peaky blinds in fantasy setting to more of Abercrombie esque grimdark story about power struggle and intrigue.

Starting my vacation book nearly halfway through my vacation. It's been some ti. E since last time I read Kay I forgot how good of a writer Kay is.

Promising start but unfortunately I'm putting it on pause because I don't have time for audiobooks on vacation.

Very unusual book. It even reminds me of Pynchon a bit.

Ok this does feel like a Call of Cthulhu game campaign

It is easy to be wise about other's lives. Other's choices

The Church is not that keen on God, in my experience,” said Baron Rikard. “They think of him much as a lawyer thinks of the law. Something to be got around.”

She was a non-stop talker which made her hard to know

Life is problems. Living is solving problems.

80's fantasy tends to be bit slower, even in later books in the series, but love here things escalate quickly

The mute wore golden circle rings in his large unswept ears, painful to affix as Mordel had no lobes

I strive to be this extra.

To pretend I have easy answers would mock your very real worry

Obscenity thy orders

Censorship in this book is hilarious. Especially since there are some very explicit horrors of war in here

I really like chase rules. I'm implementing something like this in my DnD sessions.

I should probably stop buying things I'm unlikely to use but there were bunch of Call of Cthulhu RPG books on sale and who knows, I might end up running a campaign at some point. So far I'm definitively intrigued and do want to try it.

It's time to re-read one of my favorites.

Somewhat book related update but I did Diana Wynne Jones/Ghibli's Howl's moving castle inspired tattoo

Are there dumb reasons for re-reading something? Re-read because I'm running Greek mythology D&D campaign where events of Iliad are canon and I need to refresh my memory.

It's a glory hole

Yup, internet has ruined my brain because my first thought wasn't innocent thing that was described next.

I love Pynchon's writing but this book is overstaying it's welcome.

I hate when notes are at the back of the book instead of at the bottom of the page.

Don't forget the real business of war is buying and selling. The murdering and violence are self-policing, and can be entrusted to non-professionals.

Large format omnibus hardcovers are very pretty on bookshelf but holly shit are they impractical for any longer reading session.

So far I never read Pamuk's book I didn't like but I suppose there is a first time for everything.

Mika relevantniji nego ikada

Hopefully huge reading slump I been in is over so I can dive back into this.

As expected for Ursula Le Guin worldbuilding is superb. I can feel and smell this small place where story takes place.
